Co-located with African Construction Expo and Totally Concrete Expo, the event will address the impact of the 4IR and the way we view traditional, local sectors of the economy that are involved in the conveyance of liquids, gases & slurries.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) encompasses the Internet of Things, but goes beyond simple device connectivity toward being an ‘Internet of Everything’.
At its core is the combination of big data, analytics and physical technology. It’s the collective force behind many products and services that are fast becoming indispensable to modern life.
According to Content and Marketing Project Manager, Nico Loretz, a high-level panel discussion will look at how the 4IR will affect the mind shifts in the way we view traditional and local sectors of the economy.
He continues: “The growing focus towards industrial expansion with the petrochemical-, power-, mining- water- and growing food and beverage sectors will drive demand for industrial pumps, valves and pipes for years to come.”
According to a published TechSci Research report “Africa Industrial Valves Market By Type, By End User, By Country, Competition Forecast and Opportunities, 2011 – 2021”, that the industrial valves market in Africa is forecast to surpass $4 billion by 2021.
And according to Frost & Sullivan, the global centrifugal pumps’ market revenue is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 2.5% and reach $28.57bn by 2023.
Loretz says presentations and case studies related to the 4IR will be delivered by AngloGold Ashanti, Franklin Electric SA, Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement and Control (SAIMC), nCoded Solutions and others.
Apart from the free-to-attend conference, the event will feature exhibitions from leading manufacturers, equipment- and service providers.
