Africa Health 2016 has announced a brand new conference titled: Health Technology Assessment, to take place on Thursday 9th June.
Africa Health 2016 has announced a brand new conference titled: Health Technology Assessment, to take place on Thursday 9th June.
Africa Health is the continent’s largest healthcare exhibition and is expected to attract more than 7,000 healthcare professionals and 500 local and international exhibitors from 53 countries. The event will take place between the 8th and 10th of June at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
The Health Technology Assessment conference is one of the 17 CPD accredited conferences taking place over the three day event period, which will bring together locally and internationally acclaimed speakers to discuss, showcase and share their experiences and insights into the latest methods, developments and technologies in the healthcare industry.
According to Africa Health, the Health Technology Assessment conference will focus on evidence-based decision making, resource allocation and utilisation of health technologies as part of cost-effective healthcare. Key topics will include health technology planning and health technology accessibility, affordability and acceptability.
Other conference topics include Quality Management, Public Health and Healthcare Management, among others.
On the overall Africa Health event, Director at Informa Life Sciences Group – one of the event organisers, Jamie Hill, said: “The event will focus on some of the major healthcare challenges faced by developing countries in Africa, which will include maternal health, non-communicable diseases, controlling disease outbreaks, telemedicine and the role it plays in Africa, amongst others.”
During the event, a number of meetings, panel discussions, workshops, demonstrations and collaborative activities will be available amongst the 17 conference tracks, where healthcare professionals will be given the opportunity to learn about recent developments within the medical field.
“Our aim is to position Africa Health as a platform for African healthcare professionals and medical specialists to share their expertise on some of the latest emerging healthcare trends, as well working towards solving some of the continents greatest healthcare problems,” said Hill.
