The 2016 MyBroadband Conference will take place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand on 20 October.

The MyBroadband Conference is the premier IT and telecoms event in South Africa, attracting over 3,000 executives and IT professionals from around the country.

Now in its 12th year, it promises to be the biggest and best conference yet – with speakers and exhibitions from major IT and telecoms players in South Africa.

The MyBroadband Conference has become a popular meeting place for IT executives and industry players, where business meetings take place and deals are struck.

The conference facilitates interaction between IT decision makers and exhibitors, which guarantees the event is of great value to all sponsors and delegates.

The MyBroadband Conference through the years

The first MyBroadband Conference – the MyADSL/BIT Broadband Conference – took place on 1 November at the STH auditorium at the University of Johannesburg.

The event attracted around 100 delegates, with Vox Telecom CEO Douglas Reed, JAWUG’s Roelf Diedericks, Internet Solutions’ Alan Bacher, and Vodacom’s Jannie van Zyl speaking at the event.

In 2006, the event moved to Vodacom World and enjoyed generous support from Vodacom over the next few years.

The last MyBroadband Conference at Vodacom World took place in 2012, where the event filled the venue to capacity.

In 2013, the conference moved to Gallagher Estate, with Telkom as the headline sponsor, which offered enough space for the anticipated growth.

Here is a look at how the annual MyBroadband Conference grew from a small, niche broadband event to the largest local broadband and telecoms event in South Africa.

Gallagher Disaster Management Division

Gallagher Convention Centre has a disaster management division tasked with ensuring that the legal requirements are met for all events. The Gallagher Disaster Management division will be able to provide you with a complete disaster management solution at a very competitive price, no matter the format or size of your event. These services include floor plan evaluation and comment, JOC file compilation and submission as well as designer stand plan submission. Our disaster management division will facilitate EMS inspections, communicate any issues that might arise and assist with the formulation of solutions for issues that were identified. This service includes an onsite safety officer for the duration of the event.
